RAPID Malaria Test

Still In Development Last Update: August 07, 2014

IanXen has developed Rapid Automated Paludic Independent Diagnosis (R.A.P.I.D), an iPhone based Malaria diagnosis system. IanXen works in London, UK and conducts research trails in Jakarta, Indonesia. The diagnostic app and appartus use the camera and the iPhone's computational power to detect the plasmodium that causes malaria in less than a minute. It comes in a Pelcan box with solar power source and microscope slides included.

IanXen RAPID has a working prototype that functions at 98% accuracy. They are currently developing a market-ready model.
