The Paracheck-pf is a rapid diagnostic test used for the detection of Plasmodium falcipurm, a central parasite in causing malaria. The Paracheck-pf is made by Orchid Biomedical Systems from Goa, India. Over the last 10 years, the Paracheck-pf has become one of the most widely-used rapid diagnostic tests globally, with over 100 million tests sold and usage in 70 countries. Paracheck-pf is a qualitiative immuno-assay. Coming in two forms, either a flat-lying or a dipstick, the sample of blood passes through a conjuagate after placement in a buffer. A ink bands indicate a positive tests.
